Printing at A Fleur de Pierre
While teaching printmaking at Union College, my job took me to Paris several times to continue study of printmaking with students. Students would draw in the Louvre two days a week and then make dry point etchings at a Parisian cooperative print studio. After class I would hop on the Metro and head to atelier a Fleur de Pierre, a professional lithographic studio, where I would draw on a stone. After three weeks, the stone was printed on their Voirin press and I was able to take a video of their printing the stone I drew on to create "Whirligig".
